In Tar Valon, Min sees portents of hideous doom. Because i had nothing to read and i remembered that id heared that the series was good, i picked up The Eye of the World. But life happened and I stopped reading for a few years. Talmanes scrambles back into the building, and the gholam grins and throws the ashanderei into the burning building with the medallion still attached before going for Mat again. I am now about halfway through A Shadow Rising, and loving it. I have read WoT up to the half of book 4 Shadow Rising and i must say that i cannot go furthermore. What I enjoy best about The Wheel of Time is its game-like format. Being a fan of Role Playing Games like Final Fantasy, you have an arsenal of predetermined configuration, this is the premise of the One Power for the book. Will the White Tower itself be broken? By the time I got back to the Wheel of Time, just considering the intimidating length of Lord of Chaos's Prologue was enough to turn me off. Those, more than any books, lit a fire under me. The Shadow is rising to cover humankind. Back it the early 90s I loved The Eye of the World, The Great Hunt, The Dragon Reborn, The Shadow Rising, and The Fires of Heaven so much that they really influenced me into start writing. I have seen the many threads that say how wondrous a series WoT is etc but i can find no justification for those claims. This re-read Tonight, though, he danced with Jak o' the Shadows.
